UMES Falls At Navy
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -Maryland Eastern Shore trailed by just one run through five-and-a-half innings at Navy on Tuesday, but the Midshipmen scored six unanswered runs to pull away for a 10-3 win at Max Bishop Stadium.
UMES (5-31) hung tough, playing Navy (23-16-1) to a 4-3 game heading to the bottom of the sixth before the Mids scored two in the sixth and four in the eighth.
Jeffrey Fleetwood led the UMES nine-hit offense, going 3-for-5 with an RBI while Stephen Bull also collected two hits. Bryan Chaikowsky, Luis Mena and Byron Campbell all scored runs for UMES.

Navy got on the scoreboard first with two runs in the bottom of the second. The first three Midshipmen of the frame reached with singles, the last of which, to left center by Dave Milanes, produced the game's first run. Two batters later, Jeff Bland extended the lead on a groundout to shortstop from Campbell.
The Hawks cut the lead in half in the fourth, 2-1. UMES' Campbell lead off the inning with a single up the middle and stole second base. A line single to left by Fleetwood followed to put runners on first and third before Shaquille Bagwell beat the double-play relay throw from second to score Campbell.
Navy added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on consecutive RBI hits with two outs. Dupell led off with a double to left-center field and with two outs, Driscoll singled to left to push the lead to 3-1. Campbell, the next hitter, made it 4-1 with a single left.
UMES, again, shaved the deficit to one at 4-3 in the top of the fifth. With Dwayne Gammage on in relief of Navy starter Jordan Heller, Chaikowsky was hit by a pitch. Chaikowsky stole second before Nick Wiggins and Mena walked to load the bases with no outs.
Navy's Campbell made it 5-3 with a groundout and Andrew Hahn had an RBI base hit through the right side for a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the sixth off Sean Woods and Cody Cauffman.
The Midshipmen closed the scoring with four runs on four hits and two errors for the final margin. The inning was highlighted by an RBI single by Alex Azor and sacrifice fly by Milanes.

10th Inning North Florida Home Run Downs B-CU, 6-5
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tied 5-5 heading into the bottom of the 10th inning, North Florida hit a home run to lift the Ospreys past Bethune-Cookman Tuesday night at Dusty Rhodes Field at Harmon Stadium
B-CU put up the first run with a dropped fly ball on the run, on a Ryan Durrence shot to the UNF outfield, batting in Emmanuel Castro to take the lead in the opening frame.
After over four innings with B-CU in the lead, UNF's Kyle Dahl, younger brother of former B-CU pitcher Justin Dahl, fired a home run to left to tie the score up at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth.
The scored remained locked up, but the Wildcats got a little traction in the top of the seventh, as Matt Wright stepped in with two outs and two on for a triple to right center for two RBI. Next at bat, DJ Leonard crushed a home run to left center, sending Wright home to complete a four-run swing and move on top 5-1.
However, the Ospreys were not about to go away, leading off with a homer to left center in the bottom of the seventh. UNF continued to chip away on the ground to knot it up again. UNF first took home on a wild pitch, followed by an infield chopper that scored the base runner from third, and wrapped up with an RBI single up the middle to make it 5-5 heading into the eighth.
Pitching took care of the important final innings of regulation with three straight batters downed in the eighth, followed up with consecutive groundouts in the ninth, pushing the game into extra innings.
Making his biggest plays late in the game, UNF first baseman Andrew Karmeris led off the tenth and sealed it for UNF with a straight-line shot just inside the left foul pole for a walk-off home run, giving the Ospreys the 6-5 win.
Leading B-CU and hitting 2-for-5, DJ Leonard had two RBI. Also earning a multi-hit game, Emmanuel Castro hit 2-for-5 as well. Matt Wright finished with one hit and two RBI.
