The Eagles took the lead for good in the top of the third inning by scoring six times.

Craig Richmond and Derek Richards opened the innings with singles and Savage followed with a single to tie the score at 3-3.

Richards and Savage then executed a double steal and Kashangaki followed with an infield hit that scored Richards with the go-ahead run.

Spahn then plated Savage with a single that pushed the CSU lead to 5-3.

Alex Black drew a walk to load the bases and Kiessling delivered a sacrifice fly to right that increased the CSU lead to 6-3.

Vagnier then capped the inning with a two-run double that gave the Eagles an 8-3 lead.

The Eagles increased the lead by scoring two unearned runs in the fourth inning.

Richards singled to start the inning, but was erased on a fielder's choice by Savage. Savage then stole second base and later scored when Kashangaki singled and the Hawks committed an error.

Kashangaki stole third and scored when Spahn delivered a sacrifice fly giving the Eagles a 10-3 lead.

Coppin State added a run in the sixth inning when Spahn hit a sacrifice fly that scored Kashangaki.
