Jordan Elliott tossed a six-hit complete game to lead Delaware State to a 6-1 win over Towson at the Wake Forest Tournament this afternoon.
The Hornets earned their first win of the season, while the Tigers fell to 2-3.
Elliott scattered six singles, while only allowing an unearned run in the fifth inning. He struck out three without allowing a walk in his first career complete game. He retired the side in order in the second, seventh and eighth innings. The former Milford High School (Del.) star recorded 13 groundouts and nine fly ball outs. The Hornets also pulled off two double plays in the contest.
Newcomers Troy DeRouen and Aaron Nardone each had two hits and two runs batted in to lead Delaware State's 12-hit attack. Keith Hernandez, Scott Davis and Cameron Cecil also had two hits for the Hornets.
