North Carolina A&T Shuts Down UMES Offense, 8-0, 10-0
Starting pitchers Nick Rogers and Esterlin Paulino held Maryland Eastern Shore scoreless and allowed just six hits as North Carolina A&T completed a MEAC doubleheader sweep, 8-0 and 10-0, at Hawks Stadium Saturday.
Rogers (6-3) went the distance in the run-rule-shortened second game, surrendering just a single to Shaquille Bagwell with two outs in the third. He struck out five UMES batters while Paulino (4-2) fanned 12 and walked two, scattering five hits in eight innings.
The Aggies (14-21, 8-3 MEAC) snapped a seven-game losing streak with the victories and the Hawks (2-31, 1-9) have now lost each of their last eight.
Designated hitter Marquis Riley paced the N.C. A&T offense going 3-for-4 with six RBIs and one run scored. First baseman Bryan Chaikowsky went 2-for-3 with a double in Game 1 and was the only UMES player to reach third base in the contest.
In the second game, the visitors took advantage of five UMES errors to tally four unearned runs. They scored five in the fourth and four in the fifth to take control.
Second baseman Mark Nales and shortstop James Howard batted 2-for-3 and 2-for-2, respectively with two runs scored. Hines and Little also had a pair of run each.
John DesChamps took the loss for UMES, falling to 1-7 on the season with a four-inning effort. He allowed nine runs and seven hits with striking out three and issuing one walk.

Rizzuto, Eubank Power Hornets To Sweep Of FAMU
Mike Rizzuto knocked in four runs in the opener and Abe Eubank smacked two home runs in the nightcap in Delaware State's doubleheader sweep of Florida A&M at Soldier Field.
The Hornets won the first game 15-8, and capped off the sweep with a 5-4 win in game two.
In the opener, Rizzuto was 2-for-5 with four runs batted in, including a three-run triple. Delaware State led 9-8 before Rizzuto's big hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Hornets scored three insurance runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by run-scoring singles by Scott Davis and Tony Gatto.
Five players drove in at least two runs for DSU in the opener, while Warren Stimpson was 3-for-5 at the plate to lead DSU's 15-hit attack.
Derek Marshalsea (3-0) pitched two innings of relief to earn the win.
In the nightcap, Eubank hit two solo homers and Zach Adkins (2-4) pitched five solid innings to earn the win.
Keith Hernandez singled in a run and Eubank blasted a homer to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Wildcats Remain Unbeaten In MEAC, Sweep Norfolk State 10-7, 9-2 On Saturday
The Wildcats came back from 6-1 down in the first game of the doubleheader sweep scoring four runs in both the fourth and fifth inning to overtake NSU 10-7. B-CU's Emmanuel Castro was 2-3 with two home runs and 5 RBI to pace the offense and Ryan Durrence, Jairo Acevedo, DJ Leonard all homered for the winners.
Joseph Munoz pitched 4.1 solid innings in relief of starter Ali Simpson to earn the victory. Juan Perez pitched 1.1 innings recording his sixth save of the season.
In game two, B-CU's Gabriel Hernandez pitched five innings allowing only two hits and no runs striking out four for the victory. Peter O'Brien hit his team-leading 15th home run of the season and he knocked in two runs in the game along with teammates Alejandro Sanchez, Ryan Durrence with 2 RBI each. O'Brien is tied for third in the NCAA individual player stats with 15 home runs in 2010. B-CU's 56 team home runs ranks in the top 20 of the NCAA team stats. The Wildcats are now 22-14, 8-0 in the MEAC entering the series finale.

Lobos Use Late Rally to Edge Coppin State 8-6
Adam Courcha tripled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as New Mexico rallied to defeat Coppin State 8-6 on Saturday at Isotopes Park.
The Eagles led 6-5 entering the eighth inning before the Lobos staged a game-winning rally.
Max Willett was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Alex Allbritton reached on a Coppin State fielding error to put runners on first and second with none down. Daniel Gonzalez reached on a fielder's choice as the Eagles retired the lead runner, but Courcha followed with a triple that scored Allbritton and Gonzalez and put New Mexico ahead 7-6.
Rafael Neda added a sacrifice fly that scored Courcha and made the score 8-6.
The rally by the Lobos overshadowed the Eagles own rally that saw them overcome a 5-3 deficit.
Down 5-3, Coppin State began its seventh inning rally when Alex Black walked. Chris Kashangaki reached on an error advancing Black to second base.
Mark Reynoso then tied the score when he tripled to right center scoring Black and Kashangaki.
Dan Gleiberman put the Eagles ahead 6-5 with a clutch two-out single that scored Reynoso.
Reynoso was the offensive leader for the Eagles as he finished the game 3-for-4 with two runs scored and the two RBI.
