Peter O'Brien earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week honors in baseball, the conference announced on Monday. Teammate
Roman Lancara was named Pitcher of the Week, while
Joey Babuca of Delaware State
earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
O'Brien (C, 6-3, So., Miami Gardens, Florida) batted .444 with eight hits and six runs in 18 plate appearances. He posted five home runs and eight RBI to aid his team to a 3-2 mark last week including wins over #22 Ohio State and Dartmouth. Defensively, O'Brien tallied 46 putouts from behind the plate.
Lancara (P, 6-0, Jr., Carolina, Puerto Rico) recorded a 1-0 record and 1.00 ERA in a 12-5 win over #22 Ohio State last week. Lancara allowed only one run in seven innings of action against the Buckeyes. In the victory, the junior struck out five of the 21 batters he faced and walked two.
Babuca (C, 5-11, Fr., Camden, Florida) batted .636 in 11 appearances for Delaware State in four games last week. He recorded four doubles, four RBI, and seven hits for the Hornets.

Chase Davenport (NSU) went 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA and struck out seven batters during two games and nine innings of play for the Spartans.
Patrick Goelz (B-CU) struck out five batters and walked two against Dartmouth.
Tre-von Johnson (UMES) totaled one home run, five RBI and six hits in four games for the Hawks last week.
Tim Pomierski (CSU) recorded a victory and a 0.00 ERA while striking out five batters to help the Eagles win their first conference game since the 2006 season.
Marquis Riley (NCAT) led the Aggies to a 3-2 record while hitting .533 along with one home run, two RBI and three runs last week. .
Nick Rogers (NCAT) struck out 11 batters in nine innings of play in a win over Norfolk State.
