The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats extended their win streak to nine with an exciting 5-3 win over #22 Ohio State at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Monday afternoon.
Junior LHP Roman Lancara earned the win pitching seven solid innings and Juan Perez pitched the eighth and ninth innings for the save shutting down a bases loaded OSU rally in the ninth for B-CU's eighth straight home victory.
Lancara (2-1) pitched seven complete innings, giving up five hits, striking out four, walking one and allowing one earned run. Reliever Chris Anselmo got one out in the eighth, then Perez came in for the final 1.2 innings to shut down the Buckeyes (12-5).
B-CU came back from 1-0 down scoring two runs in the fourth on a Ryan Durrence sac fly RBI and an Emmanuel Castro RBI double scoring Matt Wright who singled. The Wildcats would add on to the 2-1 lead with two more runs in the sixth on a walk, two hit by pitches and a RBI ground out by Alejandro Sanchez.
