Florida A&M Falls to B-CU 13-0

Bethune-Cookman completed their sweep of the Florida A&M University Baseball team as they defeated the Rattlers 13-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play, Sunday afternoon at Moore Kittles Field.

B-CU (12-9, 3-0 MEAC tallied a game high 14 hits, while FAMU (4-11-1, 0-3 MEAC) finished with two.

The Wildcats had four players to finish with two hits each, while Oscar Santalo and John Scott had one hit each for the Rattlers

Julio Morales (2-1) picked up the win for the Wildcats as he pitched six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11.

Miguel Parga (2-3) took the loss for the Rattlers allowing 14 hits, 12 earned runs and striking out three in five innings of work.

B-CU took the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Juan Perez scored on a FAMU infielder's error.

Brandon Turner increased the Wildcats' lead as he tripled to left field scoring both Alejandro Sanchez and Emmanuel Castro.  Turner would then score as C.J. Lauriello hit into a fielder's choice, followed by a Matt Wright two-run homer, giving the B-CU a 6-0 lead.

Jeremy Davis made the score 7-0 as he scored on FAMU infielder's error.

Scott broke up the Wildcats' no-hitter as he singled up the middle in the bottom of the third inning.

B-CU would go on to score six more runs for the 13-0 final as they picked up three runs in the top of the fourth inning and three more runs in the top of the sixth inning. 

FAMU will return to action on Thursday, March 25 as they will take on Selma University in a doubleheader at Moore-Kittles Field.
