Wildcats Complete California Trip Losing At UC-Riverside 6-1

UC-Riverside scored three runs in the second inning and led 6-0 in the fifth to remain unbeaten (4-0) with a 6-1 victory Monday night over Bethune-Cookman (1-3).

Junior LHP Roman Lancara was the Wildcats starter and took the loss pitching 4.1 innings and allowing six hits and four earned runs. Lancaro struck out four and walked three in the game. 

B-CU pitchers Chris Anselmo, Joey Munoz, and Juan Perez pitched the final 3.2 innings allowing no hits and no runs.

B-CU out-hit UC-Riverside 7-6 with Peter O'Brien going 2-3 with a double while five other Wildcats had one hit each.  Bethune-Cookman scored its lone run in the ninth.

Next up for the Wildcats is a trip to Lubbock, Texas and two games versus Texas Tech University and two games versus Washington State University in Lubbock with games beginning on Thursday.
