The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats will host the Delaware State Hornets in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) televised baseball game, Saturday, May 2 at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach, Florida. The game will be televised live on ESPNU beginning at 3 p.m.
The three-time defending MEAC Tournament Champion Bethune-Cookman Wildcats are atop the conference with a 14-1 mark and are 24-21 overall record. Junior C.J. Lauriello leads the Wildcats with a .389 average and is tied for third in the MEAC with 15 doubles.
Delaware State is currently second in the MEAC with a 9-6 record, 18-17-1 overall. The Hornets are led by senior pitcher Dan Perkins. Perkins leads the MEAC and is second in the nation with a 1.73 ERA. Senior outfielder Ross Babineaux has guided the team with a .441 batting average, second best in the MEAC.
The 2009 MEAC Baseball Championship is slated for May 14-17 at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark, 105 E. Orange Ave, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Only the top six teams in the conference will compete in the double elimination tournament.
