Visiting Savannah State committed a pair of two-out errors in the bottom of the ninth inning, allowing the tying and winning runs to score to give NSU an 11-10 win and three-game sweep of the series at Marty L. Miller Field.
Jerrod Farley led NSU (16-18) with a 3-for-5 day. He doubled, tripled and knocked in three runs. But it was his infield single to lead off the ninth which got things started for NSU. He went to second on a sacrifice and to third on a groundout, and scored on the first SSU error of the inning. It was Farley's third run scored for the game.
Drew Suttmiller reached on the first error and went to second when the ball went out of play. TiQuan Griffin followed by hitting a roller to short, but the shortstop's throw sailed over the first baseman's head, allowing Suttmiller to score the winning run.
Griffin had his first three-hit game as a Spartan, finishing 3-for-5 with two stolen bases.
