FIU Tops Bethune-Cookman 3-2

FIU scored the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning on a bases loaded walk to Sean Riley for a 3-2 victory over Bethune-Cookman University.

 

B-CU’s Chris Brown was the Wildcat offense hitting two home runs and a double driving in both runs and setting a new career-high with five home runs in a season. Brown now has 17 career round trippers. Brown had three of B-CU’s four hits in the game.

 

Florida International University starting pitcher Daniel DeSimone pitched three-hit ball over eight innings to lead the Panthers (25-14). B-CU starter Roman Lancara pitched five innings and allowed six hits and two runs. Five Wildcat pitchers worked the final five innings with Samuel Rodriguez (0-3) taking the loss.

 

DeSimone struck out a career-high eight B-CU batters and did not walk a Wildcat.

 

B-CU is now 21-21 on the season and plays at Maryland-Eastern Shore in MEAC play this weekend
