Delaware State’s Larrone Moore added two first place finishes to his record this season after taking the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the Great Dane Classic in New York Friday evening.
In the 60-meter dash, Moore bested the field with a time of 6.84 seconds. He has won the 60-meter dash in each of DSU’s last three competitions. Delaware State’s Lee Barnes was fourth in the 60 with a time of 6.94 seconds. Moore won the 200 in 21.93 seconds, while Barnes was fourth at 22.11.
Moore and Barnes each qualified for next month’s IC4A championships with their performances in the 60 & 200. Delaware State was second in the 1600-meter relay. The team of Daeshon Davidson, Michael Taylor, Brandon Reeves and Burton Clarke completed the course in a time of 3:14.34. The Hornets also took third in the 1600 relay (3:17.05).
Davidson also was third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.09. Reeves was fourth in the 400-merter dash with an IC4A qualifying time of 48.78. Burton Clarke was fifth in the 400 (48.95), Donte Holmes was fifth in the 1000-meter run (2:33.32).
