Spartans? Foss Named To ABCA All-East Region Team

Norfolk State right-handed pitcher Luke Foss was named to the 2007 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-East Region second team, the organization announced.

Foss, who just completed his senior season, becomes the first Spartan named to an ABCA all-region team after enjoying a banner year in 2007. He went 10-2 with a MEAC-leading 2.28 earned run average. His 10 wins set a new NSU single-season record and tied for the most in the MEAC while currently ranking him 33rd in Division I. He also ranks 31st nationally in ERA, and opponents hit just .245 against Foss in his 86.2 innings of work.

Foss was a perfect 6-0 in non-conference games with wins over Seton Hall and Villanova of the Big East. He was 4-2 with a 2.00 ERA in seven MEAC games and won his last six decisions overall. Foss helped NSU to a Division I school-record 25 wins in 2007.
