The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference thanks you for your interest in covering the league and its member institutions. Please find below some general information and guidelines which should help you in your coverage. As always, feel free to reach out to the MEAC strategic communications staff if you have any further questions.
General Notes
MEAC (pronounced MEE-ack) is an acronym for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
NOT Mid-East Athletic Conference.
NOT Mid-Eastern Athletics Conference.
It is preferred that media outlets not pronounce the conference name by spelling out the letters for MEAC (i.e., M-E-A-C); we prefer to be referred to as "the MEE-ack."
When used in a sentence, please use "the MEAC" instead of just "MEAC" (i.e., "Darius Leonard played football at South Carolina State, which is a member of the MEAC.").
The MEAC office is currently headquartered in Norfolk, Va. It is the only FCS conference to
completely own its headquarters property.
