NORFOLK, Va. – The 2026 volleyball season continued with another busy week of non-conference action, as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) teams faced a number of opponents across the country.
Delaware State and Coppin State each put together strong weeks, with the Hornets going 3-1 and the Eagles going 3-0 at the Zips Invitational.

- Delaware State has opened the 2026 season with a 9-2 record, including a perfect 2-0 mark in true road matches.
- After opening the season 1-5, Coppin State won three straight matches at the Zips Invitational, hosted by Akron.
- The Eagles hit .383 against Cleveland State to close out the 3-0 weekend. The mark was the best hitting percentage in program history for a four-set match.
- Delaware State’s Aaliyah Mitchell leads the MEAC with 121 kills, averaging 3.67 kills per set.
- Teammate Hannah Sanders leads the conference with a .432 hitting percentage and 50 total blocks.
- Of note, Sanders’ 50 total blocks ranks fourth nationally.
- Coppin State setter Eva Rovello has recorded 350 assists through the opening weeks of the season, averaging 8.75 assists per set.
- Reigning MEAC Preseason Player of the Year Coco Figueroa of Coppin State leads the conference with 162 digs.
