NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) wrapped up Week 2 of the 2026 football season Saturday night, with the league posting a 4-2 record on the week. North Carolina Central highlighted the weekend with a 30-22 victory over North Carolina A&T State in the Aggie-Eagle Classic.

The MEAC’s two losses came against nationally ranked Power Four opponents, with Norfolk State falling to No. 25 Virginia and Howard falling at defending national champion No. 5 Indiana.

South Carolina State (3-0, 0-0 MEAC) – Box Score | Recap
South Carolina State remained unbeaten with a dominant 66-0 victory over Virginia State Saturday at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 and led 31-0 at halftime before adding three touchdowns in the third quarter and two more in the fourth. Mason Pickett-Hicks rushed for 112 yards on 10 carries and added two receptions for 31 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown catch from Ronnie Robinson.

South Carolina State finished with 480 total yards, including 282 on the ground, while Keely Watson completed 14-of-19 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs’ defense forced five turnovers, including two interceptions and three fumble recoveries, while holding Virginia State to 114 total yards. Marquis Lane-Owens added a fumble-return touchdown, and the Bulldogs also returned an interception for a score in the fourth quarter.

North Carolina Central (2-1, 0-0 MEAC) – Box Score | Recap
North Carolina Central held off North Carolina A&T State 30-22 on Saturday to claim the 98th annual Aggie-Eagle Classic at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium. Plez Lawrence turned in a career performance, rushing for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. His 73-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave the Eagles a 23-7 lead, while his third score pushed the advantage to 30-14 in the third quarter.

The Aggies rallied late to pull within 30-22, but North Carolina Central’s defense came up with a pair of big plays in the final seconds, including Jakarri Martin II’s game-sealing interception. Joshua Truesdale led the Eagles with 10 tackles and an interception.

Delaware State (2-1, 0-0 MEAC) – Box Score | Recap
Delaware State used a dominant ground game to take down Bowie State 21-6 on Saturday at Alumni Stadium. The Hornets rushed for 224 yards, averaging 7.2 yards per carry, and scored all three of their touchdowns on the ground.

Shaun Boykins Jr. led the way with 87 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Delaware State’s defense held the Bulldogs to 287 total yards. Malcolm Jefferies recorded eight tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble, while Wayne Favors III added an interception.

Morgan State (2-1, 0-0 MEAC) – Box Score | Recap
Morgan State cruised past Virginia-Lynchburg 55-0 Saturday at Hughes Stadium, improving to 2-1 on the season. The Bears piled up 522 yards of total offense, including 387 through the air, and scored eight touchdowns. Cameron Edge led the way through the air, completing 17-of-19 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns without an interception.

Justin Perry caught six passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, while Malachi Bryant, Alex Simmons and Maxim Copeland also found the end zone through the air. Jordan Barnett added a rushing touchdown, and Darius Searles returned an interception 28 yards for another score. Morgan’s defense recorded five sacks and two interceptions while holding Virginia-Lynchburg scoreless.

Howard (1-2, 0-0 MEAC) – Box Score | Recap
Howard ran into a dominant performance from the defending national champion, falling 55-0 to No. 5 Indiana on Saturday. The Hoosiers controlled the game from the outset, using a strong rushing attack to open up the passing game and build a 41-0 halftime lead.

Indiana rushed for 179 yards in the first half, with Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr. accounting for 161 combined yards. Quarterback Josh Hoover completed 6-of-11 passes for 146 yards and four touchdowns before halftime. Howard was held to 57 total yards in the opening half and went 1-of-8 on third down as the Bison fell to 1-2 on the season.

Norfolk State (1-2, 0-0 MEAC) – Box Score | Recap
Norfolk State faced a tough test against No. 25 Virginia on Friday, falling 59-3 in the first meeting between the two programs at Scott Stadium. The Spartans totaled 223 yards of offense, with Deljay Bailey completing 15-of-25 passes for 142 yards. Paul Billups II recorded Norfolk State’s longest play of the night with a 32-yard reception, while Elyjah Mitchell led the Spartans with five catches for 43 yards.

Defensively, Brenden Thompson posted a team-high nine tackles, while Josiah Davis recorded an interception for the second consecutive week. Marco Peery accounted for Norfolk State’s lone points with a 40-yard field goal as the Spartans dropped to 1-2 on the season.
