COLLEGE. PARK, Md. (May 1, 2026) -- The Morgan State women's track & field team wrapped its final preparations for the postseason tonight in College Park, where they competed in the Kehoe Twilight Meet, hosted by the University of Maryland.
 
The meet serves as the Bears' last opportunity to fine-tune performances ahead of the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships.

The Lady Bears turned in several strong performances at the Kehoe Twilight Meet, highlighted by a mix of top finishes and personal-best efforts on both the track and in the field.
 
Morgan State opened the meet with a strong showing in the field events, setting the tone early with several top finishes and personal-best marks. Junior Laniyah Henderson led the way with a runner-up finish in the triple jump (12.16m) and added a 4th-place, personal-best mark in the long jump (5.91m).
 
Senior Brylan Carter delivered a standout performance in the javelin, recording a personal-best throw of 40.62m to place 4th—currently ranking No. 2 among HBCUs—while also placing 6th in the hammer throw. Freshman Cailyn Johnson added a 4th-place finish in the discus (43.48m), and sophomore Aleah Alexander cleared 1.59m in the high jump to tie for 6th, highlighting a productive start for the Bears in the field.
 
As the meet transitioned into the evening track events, the Lady Bears continued to build momentum with several solid performances.
 
Sophomore Jatavia Robinson paced the Bears in the 100 meters with a 5th-place finish (12.12), while freshman Anyra Knight impressed with a 4th-place showing in the 100-meter hurdles (14.77). Freshman Elena Juarez posted a season-best 1:08.18 in the 400-meter hurdles, and junior Crystal Coke recorded a personal-best 11:48.43 in the 3000 meters to place 9th, ranking No. 4 among HBCUs.
 
The 4x100-meter relay team capped the night with a 6th-place finish in 46.41, as the Bears closed out the meet with strong momentum heading into the championship portion of the season.

Sophomore Jatavia Robinson raced to a 5th place finish with a time of 12.12, while freshman Anyra Knight placed 8th with a time of 12.18. Sophomore Keira Stewart clocked in at 12.55 (18th) and freshman Raven Johnson ran a 14.48 (31st).

100mH
Freshman Anyra Knight placed 4th with a time of 14.77. Freshman Elena Juarez posted a time of 17.66 (15th).

200m
Sophomore Keira Stewart ran a time of 25.61 (21st) and freshman Kayla Gordon ran a 26.22 (25th). Sophomore Kayla More recorded a time of 26.97 (32nd).

400m
Freshman Kayla Gordon ran a time of 58.27 (22nd), while sophomore Kayla More ran a 59.19 (26th).

400mH
Freshman Elena Juarez ran a season-best 1:08.18 to finish in 12th place.

1500m
Freshman Natalia Eastman turned in a personal best 5:01.75 (28th) and senior Aaliyah Headley ran a 5:22.26 (31st).
 
3000m
Junior Crystal Coke recorded a personal best time of 11:48.43 (HBCU #4) to place 9th.

4x100m
The Morgan 'A' team (J. Robinson, A. Knight, K. Gordon, K. Stewart) raced to a 6th place finish with a time of 46.41.

Field Events:

Discus Throw
Freshman Cailyn Johnson recorded a throw of 43.48m to place 4th. Senior Bryan Carter and sophomore Addriana Cordner placed 8th (38.13) and 9th (37.86m), respectively.  

Hammer Throw
Senior Brylan Carter placed 6th with a toss of 51.43m, while freshman Terry-Ann Thompson placed 8th with a mark of 47.98m (HBCU #10). Freshman Cailyn Johnson finished 10th with a toss of 38.31m.

High Jump
Sophomore Aleah Alexander cleared 1.59m and tied for 6th place. Sophomore TyTiana Grandy was tied for 11th place with a mark of 1.54m.

Javelin Throw
Senior Brylan Carter launched a personal best throw of 40.62m for 4th place – the mark currently ranks No. 2 in HBCUs.

Long Jump
Junior Laniyah Henderson recorded a personal best and placed 4th with a mark of 5.91m. Junior Hemetii Apet cleared a season best 5.33m (18th), and junior Azariah Jones had a season best mark of 5.02m (20th).

Shot Put
Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson finished in 7th place with a toss of 11.65m, and freshman Jayla-Shae Wright posted a throw of 9.88m.

Triple Jump
Junior Laniyah Henderson placed 2nd by clearing 12.16m on her first attempt.
