MEAC Announces Weekly Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Honors

Norfolk, Va., Apr. 29, 2026-- Norfolk State senior Brooklyn Robinson was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week, while North Carolina Central senior Tia Lucas earned Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.   
 
Robinson (Sr., Prince George, Va.) placed seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.50. 
 
Lucas (Sr., James Island, S.C.) won the women’s high jump at the Penn Relays, clearing a MEAC-best 1.75 meters to claim gold. 

Other Top Performers 

  • Cailyn Johnson (MSU) recorded a seventh-place finish in the discus at the Penn Relays with a season-best throw of 47.45 meters. 

  • Ija Mumford (HOW) took 13th in the long jump with a leap of 5.67m meters and 12th in the triple jump with a leap of 11.98 meters at the Penn Relays. 

  • Jonysha Prucien (UMES) claimed silver in the triple jump at the Penn Relays with a mark of 12.54 meters. 

  • Sanaa Virgil (DSU) placed third in the triple jump at the Penn Relays with a mark of 12.40 meters, setting a new Delaware State school record.
