NORFOLK, Va. -- Dr. Bilal Badruddin, Director of Alumni Relations at Howard University, has been named the 2025–2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) MEAC Nation Alumni Director of the Year. The announcement was made during the inaugural MEAC Foundation Sneaker Ball presented by Coca-Cola on May 22.
Since being appointed Director of Alumni Relations at Howard University in April 2023, Dr. Badruddin has led numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening alumni engagement nationwide. His collaborative approach, strategic vision, and commitment to Howard alumni have helped increase participation and strengthen relationships between Howard University and its alumni community.

"Anytime you are recognized in athletics, it is an achievement worth celebrating, but being named the inaugural recipient of this distinguished honor is a testament to Dr. Badruddin's commitment and dedication to the Howard University alumni community. Beyond his service to Howard, Dr. Badruddin has been instrumental in elevating the MEAC Nation brand, lending his time and talent to our signature events, strengthening our communication and outreach efforts, and offering steadfast support to our member institutions and student-athletes. His leadership, vision, and service have established the standard for this award for years to come."
Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Badruddin began his higher education journey at Temple University, where he studied Advertising Research and became deeply involved in campus leadership. He later earned a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago and went on to serve in roles at Northeastern Illinois University, Eastern Washington University, and Colgate University prior to Howard.
Dr. Badruddin is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Howard University in the Higher Education Leadership & Policy Studies program. In addition to his role at Howard, he serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc., is the Past Chair of the National APIDA Panhellenic Association, a Virtual Scholar for the Timothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity & Sorority Research and Reform at Penn State University, and the Assistant Editor for the Journal of Sorority & Fraternity Life Research & Practice.
The MEAC Nation Alumni Director Award is presented to a member institution's alumni director who demonstrates exceptional leadership, service, and impact in advancing alumni engagement and institutional advancement while amplifying the MEAC Nation brand.
