(April 4, 2026) -- The Morgan State women's track & field team continued its outdoor campaign this weekend at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, a two-day meet held at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia. Hosted by George Mason University, the invitational featured a competitive 28-team field, including local opponents Coppin State, UMBC, Towson, and Johns Hopkins. With the outdoor season now in full swing, the Bears will aim to carry this momentum forward as they continue preparing for the MEAC Outdoor Championships later this spring. Head coach Neville Hodge emphasized the team's continued growth, saying, "We continue to work toward getting better every week." DAY 1 | FRIDAY, APRIL 3 Morgan State's women opened Day 1 with several strong performances, led by sophomore Aleah Alexander's personal-best 1.63m clearance for second place in the high jump. Sophomore Keira Stewart added a third-place finish in the long jump (5.80m), while Jatavia Robinson posted a season-best 24.37 to place eighth in the 200m. In the field events, Cailyn Johnson finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 40.77m, helping cap a solid opening day for the Lady Bears. Track Events: 400mH Freshman Sydney Monroe ran a time of 1:15.31 and finished 31st. 200m Sophomore Jatavia Robinson clocked in with a season-best time of 24.37 to secure 8th place. Senior Aleisha Robinson placed 29th with a time of 25.17. 800m Freshman Natalia Eastman ran a time of 2:15.87 to finish in 19th place. Field Events: Hammer Throw Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson placed 10th with a toss of 45.36m, followed closely by senior Bryan Carter(45.35m) and sophomore Cailyn Johnson (44.06m), who placed 12th and 14th, respectively. High Jump Sophomore Aleah Alexander recorded a personal best mark of 1.63m to finish in 2nd place, while sophomore TyTiana Grandy cleared a personal best 1.63m to finish in 5th place. Long Jump Sophomore Keira Stewart cleared 5.80m to finish in 3rd place. Discus Sophomore Cailyn Johnson placed fourth with a toss of 40.77m. Sophomore Jatavia Robinson led the way with a third-place finish in the 100m, clocking 11.61, while sophomore Cailyn Johnson added a third-place finish in the discus with a toss of 43.16m. The Lady Bears also turned in solid relay performances, with the 4x400m relay team placing fourth in a season-best 3:51.92 and the 4x100m relay team finishing fifth with a season-best 46.31. Freshman Anyra Knight added a fifth-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a season-best 14.03, helping round out another strong day for Morgan State. Track Events: 4x100m Relay The Morgan State 'A' team (J. Robinson, A. Knight, A. Robinson, K. Stewart) crossed the finish line with a 5th place season best time of 46.31. 400m Freshman Natalia Eastman ran a time of 56.91 for 10th place, while senior Aleisha Robinson ran a season-best 57.21 (12th). 100mH Freshman Anyra Knight raced to a 5th place finish with a season-best time of 14.03. 100m Sophomore Jatavia Robinson clocked an 11.61 to deliver a strong performance, finishing 3rd overall. 4x400m Relay The Morgan State 'A' team (K. Gordon, N. Eastman, K. Stewart, A. Robinson) crossed the finish line with a 4th place season best time of 3:51.92. Field Events: Pole Vault Junior Azariah Jones cleared 2.70m to place 12th. Javelin Senior Brylan Carter placed 6th with a season-best toss of 37.39m. Discus Sophomore Cailyn Johnson recorded a toss of 43.16m to finish 3rd, while sophomore Addriana Cordner had a season-best toss of 37.82 to place 10th. Shot Put Sophomore Cailyn Johnson placed 27th with a toss of 11.08m.
