MEAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEKLY HONORS PRESENTED BY WELLS FARGO Men's Basketball | 2/9/2026 10:35:27 AM The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors, presented by Wells Fargo. Howard guard Cedric Taylor III was named Player of the Week, while teammate Bryce Harris and Morgan State’s Marland Harris were named Co-Defensive Players of the Week. Coppin State guard Daveyon Lydner earned Rookie of the Week accolades. Taylor III (G, Jr., 6-7, 210, Atlanta, Ga.) averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in back-to-back wins over Coppin State and South Carolina State. Against Coppin State, Taylor recorded 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 36 minutes of action. He followed with a 24-point performance versus South Carolina State, adding nine rebounds, five assists, five steals, and two blocks, while converting a perfect 12-of-12 from the free-throw line. Harris (G, Grad., 6-4, 220, Brentwood, N.Y.) anchored Howard defensively, totaling 11 rebounds, five steals, and three blocks across two conference victories. He also contributed offensively with 37 points and five assists on the week. Harris (F, Sr., 6-9, 215, Inglewood, Calif.) grabbed in 11 rebounds, recorded four blocks and one steal in a win over Maryland E. Shore. Offensively, he contributed 17 points, shooting perfectly from the field (7-of-7) and dished out one assist. Lynder (F, Fr., 6-4, 180, York, Pa.) accounted for 10 points, with 6-of-7 from the free-throw line, with four assists, two rebounds and one steal in a win over Delaware State. Other Top Performances Elijah Jamison (Norfolk State) scored 28 points, with two rebounds, three assists and one steal in a win over N.C. Central. Kelechi Okworogwo (N.C. Central) posted 18 points on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting performance, along with eight rebounds and three blocks against Norfolk State. Jamari Piercy (Coppin State) registered 16 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, against Delaware State. James Pounce (Delaware State) recorded 11 points, three steals, one rebound, and one assist versus Coppin State. Joe Slack (N.C. Central) scored 19 points, shooting 50 percent from the field (7-of-14) and knocking down four three-pointers, while adding three rebounds, two steals, and one assist against Maryland Eastern Shore. Alfred Worrell Jr. (Morgan State) finished with 24 points and two steals against Maryland E. Shore.
