BALTIMORE – DeMariontay Hall led the Eagles with 12 points and seven rebounds in a Coppin State men's basketball loss to Howard on Monday night at PEC Arena. CSU fell to 3-21 on the season and 1-6 in the MEAC as the Bison improved to 14-9 overall and 4-3 in league play.

Hall was one of three Eagles in double figures, hitting 5-of-6 from the floor along with a pair of free throws. A senior from Atlanta, Ga., Hall added a block and a steal and was assisted by Tyler Koenig and Hussain Williams with ten points apiece.

Khali Horton and Jamari Piercy added six points apiece, followed by Camaren Sparrow with five points and two blocks. Hassan Perkins dished out five assists as well.

Howard outshot Coppin, 45.3% to 35.7% while hitting eight threes and 16-of-21 from the line compared to just two 3-pointers and 11-of-18 shooting from the line for the Eagles.

Coppin stayed right with the Bison for the majority of the first half until a 9-0 Howard run put some distance between the teams. The Eagles came right back from a 20-10 deficit to score 11 straight points with a three by Williams giving them a 21-20 advantage with 5:38 remaining in the first.

After trading buckets, Howard closed the half with six-straight points to take a 31-24 lead into the locker room. The Bison extended their lead to double figures early in the second half and began to pull away with a 13-0 run following another three by Williams with 10:42 left in regulation.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday, February 7 when they host Delaware State in a 4:30 pm tipoff on ESPN+.
