NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 24, 2026 -- North Carolina Central senior Naresh Bharathy has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Santiago Pinna earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors. 
 
Bharathy (Sr., Tamil Nadu, India) undefeated in singles and doubles to lead NCCU to two team victories. Playing at No. 1 singles, the senior secured a straight-set win over NC Wesleyan before grinding out a three-set, tiebreak victory against Davidson 
 
Pinna (Fr., Tandil, Argentina) went undefeated in No. 6 singles versus NC Wesleyan and Davidson. Pinna won 6-4, 6-1 on Friday against NC Wesleyan's Julian Valverde and triumphed 6-1, 6-3 over Davidson's Daniel Cowan. 
 
Other top performers 

• Marcin Dójczynski (NSU) battled back after dropping the first set to earn a gritty 3-6, 6-1, 10-7 comeback victory. 
• Szymon Janzen (NSU) delivered a strong showing with a doubles victory (7-5) and a comeback singles win (4-6, 6-4, 10-6).
