Triple Jumper Faithlyn Irving wins at HBCU Showcase; Hawks place ninth in New York
SUMMARY
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's track & field program finished in ninth place at this past weekend's HBCU Showcase presented by Nike Running. UMES triple jumper Faithlyn Irving delivered a win in her event. The UMES men came in seventh place in the team standings while Banele Mkabela was the top finisher in the men's 3000 meter run.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
UMES triple jumper Faithlyn Irving recorded her second win of the indoor season with a mark of 12.59 meters. Irving also became a three-time winner of the HBCU Showcase triple jump competition.

In his first season as a Hawk, Banele Mkabela won his second event of the indoor season with a pace of 8:31.54 in the the 3000 meter race.
