SC State surged late in the season, winning eight straight of its final contests and capturing the Cricket Wireless HBCU National Championship Bowl, securing another national title for the Bulldogs and first under Berry who has captured back-to-back MEAC Crowns and remains undefeated in league play with an 10-0 mark.
"This team represents everything SC State football stands for — toughness, discipline, and pride," said Berry. "Finishing the season ranked in the Top 25 is a testament to the work our players and staff put in all year."
The Bulldogs offense averaged more than 30 points per game, while the defense allowed fewer than 21 points per contest and consistently forced turnovers throughout the season.
