Four Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) student-athletes earned national recognition as Stats Perform announced its 2025 FCS All-America and Freshman All-America Teams, highlighting the conference’s talented student-athletes, including the MEAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Representing the MEAC on the 2025 Stats Perform FCS All-America Teams were standouts from Delaware State, Morgan State, and South Carolina State, with additional freshman recognition for a Bulldog standout.
MEAC Honorees – 2025 Stats Perform FCS All-America Teams
Jarod Washington, Sr., South Carolina State – Second Team Defense, Defensive Back
A finalist for the 2025 Buck Buchanan Award, Washington earned Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 11. He was the only FCS player this season to record six passes defended in a single game—and he accomplished the feat twice. Washington led the FCS with 20 pass breakups and finished the season with 32 tackles (29 solo), two interceptions (one returned 51 yards for a touchdown), and one forced fumble in 12 games. A preseason and postseason First Team All-MEAC selection, he was also a finalist for the HBCU National Player of the Year presented by Stats Perform and named MEAC Defensive Player of the Year. Washington played a pivotal role in South Carolina State’s defense as the Bulldogs captured their second conference title and secured a victory at the Cricket Celebration Bowl.
Marquis Gillis, Grad., Delaware State – Third Team Offense, Running Back
Gillis, a First Team All-MEAC selection, ranked second in the MEAC in all-purpose yards (108.67 per game) and in rushing yards (271), placing 31st and 17th nationally, respectively. He totaled 1,183 rushing yards on 183 attempts, averaging 98.5 yards per game, and scored nine touchdowns. He also ranked ninth in the MEAC in total offense (90.3 yards per game) and earned MEAC Player of the Week honors once during the season.
Erick Hunter, Sr., Morgan State – Second Team Defense, Linebacker
Hunter appeared in 12 games and led the MEAC with 102 total tackles (53 solo, 49 assists), averaging 8.5 tackles per game. He ranked third in the MEAC with 14 tackles for loss and totaled four sacks for 34 yards. Hunter earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 6 and was a First Team All-MEAC selection.
MEAC Honoree – 2025 Stats Perform FCS Freshman All-America Team
Ka’Von Chisolm, R-Fr., South Carolina State – Freshman All-America Defense, Defensive Line
Chisolm, a redshirt freshman, made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs, recording 31 total tackles (21 solo, 10 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss (67 yards), 4.5 sacks for 26 yards, one forced fumble, seven quarterback hurries, and one pass breakup. His stellar performance earned him recognition among the nation’s top freshman defenders.
The Stats Perform FCS All-America Teams feature 111 players across three teams, representing all 13 FCS conferences, while the Freshman All-America Team includes 38 of the nation’s top first-year performers.
