Alabama A&M's Cornelious Brown IV and Delaware State were selected Monday as the Stats Perform HBCU National Player and Team of the Week, respectively, for Week 2 FCS college football games through Saturday.

The weekly honors lead up to the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Presentation on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee. The season-ending awards are in their 39th year.

The Weeks 2 honorees and honorable mention selections:

HBCU FCS National Player of the Week

Cornelious Brown IV, Alabama A&M, QB, R-Sr., 6-5, 210

Brown accounted for 329 yards of total offense and five touchdowns to power Alabama A&M past Alcorn State 41-31 in a SWAC nonconference matchup. With the score tied 14-14 in the first quarter, Brown rushed for the next two touchdowns – from 7 and 8 yards out – to give the Bulldogs a lead they didn't relinquish. The seventh-year player completed 25 of 34 passes for 260 yards and three TDs.

Honorable Mention: Jason Collins Jr., RB, Morgan State; Ja'Quan Snipes, RB, Hampton

HBCU FCS National Team of the Week

Delaware State (37-32 win over UAlbany)

The Hornets from the MEAC waited through a fourth-quarter weather delay of more than three hours to have quarterback Kaiden Bennett score on a 27-yard run and erase a 32-31 deficit with 34 seconds remaining. Bennett, a grad transfer, finished with three rushing TDs and had 275 yards of total offense in coach first-year coach DeSean Jackson's first win. With the upset, DSU ended an 11-game losing streak.

Honorable Mention: Alabama State (30-7 win at Southern)
