MEAC Announces Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

Howard’s Thomas & Maryland Eastern Shore’s Lynch Earn Top Weekly Honors

NORFOLK, Va., November 17, 2025 - Howard's Zennia Thomas and Maryland Eastern Shore’s Ashanti Lynch were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Players of the Week, presented by Wells Fargo. Fellow Hawk Kaliya Perry was named Rookie of the Week, while North Carolina Central forward Morgan Callahan earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.   

Thomas (G, 6-2, Sr., Cleveland, Ohio) played a pivotal role in the Bison’s 2-0 week, averaging 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 block per game. She scored 15 points on 83 percent shooting from the field while adding seven rebounds, two steals, and one block in the win over George Washington. Thomas followed that performance by posting her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Elon.  

Lynch (G, 5-9, Sr., Hookerton, Nc.) recorded a career-high 22 points in the 71-66 win over Monmouth, adding five rebounds, one assist, and four steals. She contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and four steals in the loss to Northwestern. Lynch then and added eight points, one rebound, two assists, and two steals in the win over Loyola Chicago. For the week, Lynch totaled 47 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and 10 steals across three games. 

Perry (Fr., 6-0, F., Hampton, Va.) totaled 19 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, averaging nearly 27 minutes per game en route to a 2-1 week for the Hawks. In the win over Monmouth, she scored eight points while grabbing seven rebounds and added two assists, one block, and one steal.  Against Northwestern, Perry recorded six points, five rebounds, and one assist. She rounded out the week with five points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the win at Loyola Chicago. 

Callahan (So, 6-0, Gr., Beach Park, Ill.) led North Carolina Central in a 66-53 win over UNC Asheville with 10 rebounds and six steals.  She also scored 13 points on 44 percent shooting for a double-double.

  • Aniya Finger (NCCU) recorded a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-53 win over UNC Asheville. 
  • Ariella Henigan (HOW) posted her first double-digit game of the season with a game-high 14 points in a win over Elon.  
  • Carmen Kweti (NSU) tallied six rebounds and three steals against Duke and five rebounds versus Iowa State. 
  • Patricia Sosa Lora (CSU) posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds at Penn State and added 12 points at Towson. 
  • Nile Miller (HU) tallied 19 points, nine rebounds, six steals, and three blocks over to lead Howard to wins over George Washington and Elon. 
  • Khila Morris (CSU) recorded a career-high 23 points, with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal at Penn State. 
  • Anjanae Richardson (NSU) scored 11 points versus Duke and added 13 points against Iowa State.
