MEAC Announces Weekly Football Honors - SCSU’s Atkins IV and Dollard Earn Top Awards

NORFOLK, Va. – South Carolina State University quarterback William Atkins IV has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. Teammates Jordan Dollard and Chevez Trask Jr. also earned top honors, with Dollardrecognized as Defensive Player of the Week and Trask as Offensive Lineman of the WeekMorgan State’s Raymond Moore II was selected as Rookie of the Week, and S.C. State’s Nico Cavanillas Alti claimed Specialist of the Week recognition.

Atkins IV (QB, 6-1, 215, Grad., Baltimore, MD) led the Bulldogs to a decisive 51-20 victory over Norfolk State, marking S.C. State’s first conference win of the season. The quarterback completed 24 of 36 passes for 428 yards, including four touchdowns and a 75-yard completion, fueling a balanced offensive attack that totaled 613 yards.

Dollard (DE, 6-5, 235, r-So., Greensboro, NC) anchored the Bulldog defense with six tackles, including three for loss, and 1.5 sacks. His performance helped limit Norfolk State to just 61 rushing yards.

Trask, Jr. (OL, 6-5, 300, Grad., Chicago, IL) led the offensive line to a season-high 613 total yards, including 428 passing and 185 rushing. He earned a 91% grade with eight pancake blocks and allowed zero sacks or penalties, providing the Bulldogs with dominant line play.

Raymond Moore II (QB, 6-4, 180, Fr., Baltimore, MD) rushed for 99 yards on 11 carries, including an 81-yard touchdown run, and added 171 passing yards with a touchdown pass in the overtime loss to Howard.

Nico Cavanillas Alti (K, 6-0, 190, Sr., Madrid, Spain) accounted for 15 points in the Bulldogs’ win, converting all six PAT attempts and three field goals from 36, 26, and 21 yards against Norfolk State.

  • Kaleb Gallop (Howard) recorded five tackles, including a sack, against Morgan State.
  • Wayne Favors (Delaware State) forced fumble and recorded a pass deflection versus North Carolina Central.
  • Otto Kuhns (Norfolk Stateregistered 230 passing yards with three touchdowns against S.C. State.
  • NyGhee Lolley (Delaware Statecaught five receptions for 124 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Anthony Reagan Jr. (Howardtallied 126 rushing yards with two touchdowns in OT win over Morgan State.
  • Mason Pickett-Hicks (S.C. State) recorded 58 rushing yards with a touchdown and two receptions for 11 yards with one TD against Norfolk State.
  • Mehki Wall (N.C. Centralaccounted for four returns for 157 yards with a long of 55.
  • Jaylen White (Norfolk State) posted five returns for 151 yards, long of 55.
