The University of Maryland Eastern Shore partners with Teamworks Influencer to launch Hawk Exchange
PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland – In partnership with Teamworks Influencer, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has launched the Hawk Exchange, further expanding its Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) program for UMES student-athletes.
With the launch of the Hawk Exchange, UMES is extending this unique opportunity to businesses, donors and alumni who can apply to partner with UMES student-athletes, providing a chance to reach global audiences through a streamlined through the
Hawk Exchange.
"We continue to find ways to provide resources and opportunities for our student-athletes to maximize their collegiate experience while attending UMES," says Vice President of Athletes
Tara A. Owens. "We feel the Hawk Exchange is a great tool to connect our student-athletes with a great support network of fans, alumni and businesses throughout our community.
The Hawk Exchange is a custom-designed NIL business registry for businesses, donors, alumni and others interested in connecting with UMES student-athletes. Registered companies can search, filter, and initiate conversations with student-athletes to discuss NIL deals.

Once a deal is agreed upon, the business can utilize the Hawk Exchange to create a transaction that directly pays the student-athlete without any transaction fees and automates a disclosure to the Influencer Compliance Ledger.
The Influencer platform brings expertise in specific areas, while also working closely with the UMES internal team to provide student-athletes with resources in education, NIL marketplace exchange access, infrastructure, agreement disclosure, compliance, content sharing and personal branding.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 15 sports: women's and men's volleyball, women's bowling, men's and women's golf, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, softball, baseball, and men's and women's outdoor track and field.
