DOVER, Delaware --Three rushers went over 100 yards Saturday afternoon, led by James Jones' 158 yards, and Delaware State cruised to a 70-23 win at home over Southern Connecticut State.
The victory improved Delaware State's record to 4-3 on the season while the Fighting Owls fell to 1-4.
Individually, Jones led the way for the three rushers who crossed the century mark, racking up 158 yards and two touchdowns. Marquis Gillis followed with 130 yards and one touchdown

BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 11, 2025) — The Morgan State Bears unleashed a dominant performance on Homecoming Saturday, leaving no doubt as they trounced Virginia University of Lynchburg by a commanding score of 44–6.
Morgan finished with a season-high 538 total yards of offense, including 354 yards on the ground. VUL was held to 202 total yards.
Raymond Moore made the most of his first career start, completing 13 of 22 passes for 173 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also contributed on the ground with 52 rushing yards on seven carries, including a score. Sophomore running back Dorian Harris spearheaded the Bears rushing attack with 16 carries for 95 yards.
Wofford Def. Norfolk State, 31-14 BOX SCORE | RECAP
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Norfolk State football team fell 31-14 to Wofford on Saturday afternoon at Gibbs Stadium, as the Terriers used a balanced attack to earn their first win of the season. The Spartans dropped to 1-6 overall heading into their bye week.
Quarterback Otto Kuhns completed 16 of 29 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Elyjah Mitchell and Kam'ryn Thomas for the Spartan scores. Thomas led all receivers with eight catches for 112 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown grab early in the third quarter that tied the game at 14-14.
X'Zavion Evans paced the rushing effort with 45 yards on 16 carries, while Elyjah Mitchell added 26 receiving yards and his first touchdown of the season.
North Carolina Central def. Florida A&M, 45-7 BOX SCORE | RECAP
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The North Carolina Central University football program racked up the points again Saturday afternoon at Bragg Memorial Stadium, defeating former conference foe Florida A&M 45-7.
The Eagles (5-2) have won four straight games, scoring at least 45 in each of those contests.
NCCU racked up 486 yards of total offense, 195 of which came on the ground. They have recorded at least 450 yards of total offense in each of the last four games.
The Eagles' defense was also stout, holding the Rattlers to just 197 total yards and recording a season-high three interceptions.
South Carolina State def. North Carolina A&T 22-16 BOX SCORE | RECAP
GREENSBORO, NC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs once again found a way to get things done, defeating a feisty N.C. A&T State Aggie team, 22-16, on the road Saturday (Oct.11) inside Truist Stadium (21, 500).
South Carolina State improved to 4-3, while N.C. A&T State dropped to 1-6 on the season.
