NORFOLK, Va., May 15, 2026 — Day two of the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships featured 10 gold medals awarded at William “Dick” Price Stadium on the campus of Norfolk State University.
At the conclusion of day two, Norfolk State University leads the men’s team standings with 69 points, while Morgan State University tops the women’s standings with 60 points.
South Carolina State University’s Sanaii Gaines opened the day with a victory in the women’s long jump, earning the first gold medal of the session with a mark of 6.34 meters.
Delaware State University dominated the throwing events on both the men’s and women’s sides. Kirja Hickman captured gold in the women’s shot put with a toss of 13.26 meters, while teammate Christopher Johnson claimed the men’s shot put title with a throw of 17.23 meters.
For the host Spartans, Kristopher Stephens secured the men’s long jump crown with a leap of 7.51 meters.
In the combined events, South Carolina State University’s Kenton George won the men’s decathlon with 6,833 points, while Norfolk State University’s Essence Shaw captured the women’s heptathlon title with 4,563 points.
In distance action, Crystal Coke of Morgan State University claimed the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase title in 11:57.26. On the men’s side, Marian Drazan won the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 8:58.83.
The day concluded with Morgan State University sweeping the hammer throw events. On the women’s side, Brylan Carter captured gold with a toss of 51.25 meters, while Demond Smith won the men’s hammer throw with a mark of 49.58 meters.
