NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will be represented by three individual qualifiers and one relay team at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
The four championship entries include seven student-athletes, all from Howard’s women’s track & field program. Notably, the Bison enter the national meet after recently securing its fifth consecutive MEAC Outdoor Track & Field title.
The participants in individual and relay events qualified for the national meet through competition at first round sites held May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky. and Fayetteville, Ark.

Nilijah Darden secured a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene after posting an automatic qualifying time of 43.23 in the 4x100-meter relay, a season-best performance.
Lyons also earned an individual berth to Eugene, recording an automatic qualifying mark of 22.72 in the 200-meter dash.
In the 400-meter hurdles,
Cenaiya Billups and All-American senior
Aniya Woodruff each won their respective heats. Billups advanced to her first NCAA Outdoor Championships while setting a new school record of 55.09. Woodruff also qualified after running a personal-best time of 55.43.
A total of 27 MEAC student-athletes earned berths in the NCAA East Preliminaries, representing seven of the conference’s eight member institutions. Howard led the way with 15 qualifiers, followed by Norfolk State (4), Delaware State (2), Morgan State (2), South Carolina State (2), Coppin State (1) and North Carolina Central (1).
