ORANGEBURG, SC- The South Carolina State men's and women's Indoor Track & Field teams had several athletes to be selected on the 2026  All-HBCU's Indoor Track & Field Team announced by the by HBCU TrackandFielders.
 
The All-HBCU Teams are selected among the top 12 indoor qualifiers from their perspective at schools around the county.
 
SCSU's men's team posted their highest finish in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in recent years in a 3^rd place finish overall, while the women's posted several athletes with All-MEAC performances.
 
Earning All-HBCU honors on the men side the Bulldogs dominated in Multis U events throughout the season earning top recognition among HBCU's in that event.
 
In single events in the 400 meters senior Isaiah Vertus finished ranked #12; junior Tinashe Bure ranked #5 in the 1 Mile run as well as #10 in the 5000 meters; senior Jameli Thomas ranked #5 in 60-meter hurdles; sophomore Robert Carter ranked #7 in the shot put; and in the Pole Vault  Micheal Hopkins is ranked #3 along with Kenton George #12; rounding out the Heptathlon event with four to make the list with senior Micheal Hopkins at #2, junior Kenton George at #4, senior Chrisitan Washington at #6 and Emmanuel Yisrael at #8 respectively.
 
On the women's side freshman Angelina Stabile ranks #2 in pole vault along with freshman Tajhana South making waves in the triple jump at #12 and pentathlon at #6 in perspective events.
 
 ABOUT SC STATE ATHLETICS 
South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 14 sports: women's volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, softball, men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's soccer and football with all teams competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), except for women's soccer.
