SMYRNA, Del. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore cross country team competed Friday at the Delaware State Sting Invitational, highlighted by a first-place finish from junior Rebecca Jepngetich in the women's 5K.
Jepngetich won the race with a time of 19:17.38, followed by freshman Sharly Cherop, who placed third in 20:18.66.
On the men's side, sophomore Fidelis Osunkwo led the Hawks with a 12th-place finish in 17:36.51. Freshman Kyle Gordon crossed just behind him in 17:41.64.
