NEW ORLEANS (June 21, 2025) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) revealed its Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season where Howard University Director of Track & Field
David Oliver won Mid-Atlantic Region Women's Coach of the Year. The announcement came Friday afternoon (June 20).
Oliver, a three-time NCAA Outdoor Mid-Atlantic Region Women's Coach of the Year recipient (2022, 2023 & 2025), led the Bison to its fourth consecutive MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) title after tallying a new meet record (292 points). He was named MEAC Outstanding Coach for the fourth straight year, winning 13 events.
At the NCAA East Regional Preliminary Round, the Bison had 21 entries in Jacksonville with six punching their tickets to Eugene for the Outdoor Championships.
In Eugene, five Bison earned All-American honors:
Kailei Collins (Houston);
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.);
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.);
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) and
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.).
Only USTFCCCA member schools are eligible for awards and member coaches voted on these honors after the conclusion of the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. (June 11-14).
Oliver and the Bison wrapped up another success season, winning a pair of MEAC crowns during the indoor and outdoor campaigns.
HU looks to defend both crowns for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.
