NORFOLK, Va., Mar. 26, 2025 — Norfolk State sophomore Premier Wynn was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Howard senior Kyle Fisher was named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Wynn (So., Pennsauken, N.J.) ran the 400-meter hurdles in 50.70 seconds at the South Florida Alumni Invite claiming silver which currently ranks fifth nationally. Wynn was also part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team (50.70), which is ranked first in the nation.
Fisher (Sr., Duluth, Ga.) earned seventh place in the long jump at the USF Alumni Invite with a leap of 7.39 meters, which ranks 19th nationally and is a MEAC best.
Other Top Performers
- Solomon Hammond (CSU) won the 100 meters at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a time of 10.34 seconds and contributed to the 4x100-meter relay team that finished second in 40.53 seconds. Hammond currently ranks 18th nationally in the 100 meters.
- Noah Langford (HU) competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the USF Alumni Invite finishing eighth with a time of 14.04. His performance set a MEAC-best and ranks 24th nationally in the event.
- Delano Lawrence (UMES) threw 53.95 meters in the discus at the South Carolina Weems Baskin Invitational helping UMES secure 11 top-ten finishes at the meet.
- Zackery Dillon (MSU) finished second in the shot put at the Charlotte 49ers Invitational with a throw of 16.96 meters, and eighth in the discus with a mark of 48.06 meters.
- Jaymes Saunders (NSU) cleared 1.95 meters in the high jump and jumped 7.04 meters in the long jump at the South Florida Alumni Invite, finishing 9th and 12th, respectively.
- Alexander Hollimon (SCSU) placed third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a time of 14.39.
- Robert Carter (SCSU) placed 5th in the javelin at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a throw of 59.37 meters.
