Howard Men’s Track & Field Grabs Wins at the Seahawk Shootout

Bison come away victorious in three events

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (December 13, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field team wrapped up December at the Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Wagner College, where they grabbed three victories in three events.
 
In the field, graduate Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) came away victorious in the triple jump after leaping 14.94 meters (49').
 
Other noteworthy performance in the field included reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Men's Field Athlete of the Week sophomore Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) taking bronze in the high jump (2.05 meters).
 
On the track, Dillard won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.15. Freshman Jabari Dillard (Cross Hill, S.C.) also competed in the race, earning third place overall (8.30).
 
Second-year Bison William Shepherd (Plano, Texas) won gold in the 1000-meter run, clocking in at 2:27.45.
 
Another notable performance on the track included junior Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) placing second in the 300-meter dash (34.19).
 
On Jan. 9-10, HU returns to action for the Rod McCravy Invitational, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
