Howard Men’s Track & Field Displays Another Solid Outing in Philly

Bison grab six top 8 finishes at the Penn 10 Elite

PHILADELPHIA (January 25, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field team displayed another solid outing in the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia) with six top 8 finishes at the Penn 10 Elite, hosted by the Quakers.
 
Fifth-year Bison Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.), rookie Justin Watterson (Las Vegas) and junior Jorim Bangue (Yaoundé, Cameroon) led the way, earning third (7.90), fifth (7.98) and sixth (8.01), respectively, in the short hurdles (60-meter).
 
Freshman sprinter Elijah Grant (Fort Mills, S.C.) finished seventh overall in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 21.74.
 
In the field, senior Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) took part in the long jump where he leaped 7.34 meters (fourth place).
 
Fellow classmate Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) competed in the triple jump, leaping 14.79 meters while taking fourth place.
 
On Jan. 31-Feb. 1, Howard goes to Clemson, S.C., for the Bob Pollock Invite, hosted by Clemson University.
