NORFOLK, Va., March 27, 2024 — Coppin State graduate Noxroy Wright was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, while
South Carolina State senior Dexter Ratliff was named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Howard graduate Kailei Collins was selected as the MEAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while fellow
Bison Ija Mumford earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Wright (Gr., Kingston, Jamacia) won both the men’s 100-m and 200-m dash events while also claiming victory in the men’s 4x400-m relay for Coppin State at the Towson Spring Opener. In the 100-m dash, Wright clocked a 10.50 finish placing him in CSU’s top ten All-time records. He finished the 200-m dash with a time of 21.18 seconds moving into eighth in school history.
Ratliff (Sr., Beaufort, S.C.) set new South Carolina State school records in both the discus and hammer throws to sit atop both event rankings in the MEAC standings. He placed first place at the Embry Riddle Classic in the hammer throw with a toss of 54.35 meters and took top honors in discus with a mark of 49.29 meters.
Collins (Gr., Houston, Texas) finished as the runner-up in the women’s 100-m dash at the 2024 Bob Davidson Team Challenge. She clocked a MEAC best time of 11.49 seconds, which ranks her 23
rd nationally. Collins also was a part of the 4x100 relay team earning silver with a 44.62 time.
Mumford (So., Winston-Salem, N.C.) won the women’s long jump event at the 2024 Bob Davidson Team Challenge. She leaped a MEAC-best 5.96 meters.

- Jacob Alexander (South Carolina State) won first place in the men’s 800-m race with a time of 1:51:94 to lead the MEAC.
- Arianna Scott (South Carolina State) set a school record with her second-place finish of 43.33m in the women’s javelin throw, which places her atop the MEAC leaderboard.
- Nackira Allen (Coppin State) won the women’s 200-m dash (24.72) and took second in 100-m dash (12.07) at the Towson Spring Opener which ranks fifth in the MEAC.
- Woizero Richards (Coppin State) ranks sixth in the MEAC after winning the long jump at Towson Spring Opener (5.41m).
- Brooklyn Robinson (Norfolk State) won the women’s 100-m hurdles in 14.19 seconds.
- Leslie Young (Norfolk State) set a personal record with a third-place finish in the women‘s hammer throw recording a mark of 165 feet, seven inches (50.47m).
- Adrian Holley (Morgan State) placed first at the Maryland Invitational with a personal record of 10.81 seconds.
- Joelle Johnson (Morgan State) placed second in the discus throw at Maryland Invitational setting a personal record of 154 ft-2 in (47.01m).
