Hammond, Hor Win Events at South Florida Invitational
TAMPA, Fla. -- Jeff Hammond won the long jump in record-fashion, while six other Eagles medaled as Coppin State men's track & field team had an impressive showing at the South Florida Invitational on Friday at USF Track & Field Stadium.
A senior from Kumasi, Ghana, Hammond leaped 25' 2" in his fourth attempt to win the long jump, breaking his own school record.
On the women's side, Halutie Hor took the 200 meters in a personal-record time of 23.99, which is the third-fastest time in school history. Hor finished just ahead of sophomore Gifty Oku, who also PR'd in 24.09.

Howard Wins Bison Classic
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Howard University won both the men's and women's team titles in the Bison Classic, co-hosted by Howard and Gallaudet University on Saturday. In the process, the women won seven event titles and the men took home six gold medals.
Junior Kaya-Rae Dunbar earned first in the 200-meter dash (24.61) and 100-meter hurdles (13.52), respectively.
For the men, graduate Dylan Beard and seniors Jermanie Byrd, Ashton Daniel and Ja'Leak Perry highlighted the day with a victory in the 4x100-meter relay, clocking in at 40.90.

South Carolina State Records Nine Top-10s at South Florida Invitational
TAMPA, Fla. -- The South Carolina State men and women's track teams combined for nine top-10 finishes and established 12 personal records (PRs) at the South Florida Invitational over the weekend.
Top performers for head coach Donald Cooper's teams included Kristopher Brown, fourth in the 200 meters in a time of 20.91, his best showing of the season and the second-best clocking in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) this season; the 400-meter relay team of Jalen Alleyne, Brown, Erick Hill and Waddell Rembert-Jett, fifth in a time of 40.53, the top showing of the season and the third-best time in the MEAC; Mekhi Bosket, seventh in the high jump (1.92m, 6-3.50 ft.), a PR; Angelica Frederick, sixth in the women's 100 meters (11.86), also a PR; and Brown, eighth in the men's 100 meters (10.45).

Delaware State Competes in Gallaudet Bison Classic
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Delaware State men's and women's track & field teams took part in the Bison Classic, co-hosted by Howard University and Gallaudet University on Saturday.
After a dominant showing just one weekend ago at the Towson Invitational, both men's and women's teams capitalized on that momentum with another successful performance at the Bison Classic earlier today.
Both men's and women's teams finished second place overall, with the men's team recording 148 points while the women tallied 128.5 for a combined team score of 276.5 total points worthy of a combined team finish of second place. Delaware State was just one of two schools to record a combined team score in the triple digits, finishing only behind conference competitor Howard.

Morgan State Records Four Top-10s at Duke Invitational
DURHAM, N.C. -- The Morgan State men's track & field team closed out the 2023 Duke Invitational on a high note this weekend at Morris Williams Track & Field Stadium hosted by Duke University. The meet began Thursday and concluded Saturday afternoon.
Rain played a role in the weather conditions this week, but the Bears still managed to finish with four top ten finishes and two top five results.

Norfolk State Persevere Through tough Conditions at Duke
DURHAM, N.C. -- Norfolk State track & field athletes battled the conditions over the weekend, excelling at the Duke Invitational.
Gidion Sigei and Victor Jumo shined in the 5,000 meters against top national competition. Sigei finished the race in 17
th with a time of 14:24.70, while Jumo posted a 14:47.68 on the rain-soaked track.
Senior Arieana Parker recorded a hammer throw of 142 feet, 11 inches, overcoming extremely windy surroundings.
