MEAC to Debut Countdown to Championships, presented by Coca-Cola Preview Show

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 9, 2023 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is expanding its Countdown brand, and its use of the MEAC Digital Network studio, with a pair of studio-based preview shows, titled Countdown to Championships, presented by Coca-Cola.
 
The first episode, Countdown to Championships Winter Edition, will air at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, streaming live on the MEAC Digital Network YouTube channel. This episode will serve as the conference’s official preview of its winter championships: Indoor Track & Field, Basketball and Bowling.
 
MEAC Director of Strategic Communications Jeff Cunningham will serve as host, and he will be joined by panelists Charlie Neal, James Hill and MEAC Assistant Commissioner for Strategic Communications Karen Carty.
 
The 2023 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held Feb. 19-21 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va., with the 2023 MEAC Basketball Tournament following on March 8-11 at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.
 
The winter championship slate will wrap up March 24-26 with the 2023 MEAC Bowling Championship at Pinboy’s at the Beach in Virginia Beach, Va.
 
The Countdown to Championships Spring Edition, previewing tennis, outdoor track & field and softball, will air in April.
 
 
About the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is in its 52nd year of intercollegiate competition with the 2022-23 academic school year. Located in Norfolk, Va., the MEAC is made up of eight outstanding historically Black institutions across the Atlantic coastline: Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University.
