NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 14, 2023 — Howard graduate student Ja’Leak Perry was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola and Howard senior Darci Khan was selected as Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today. North Carolina Central sophomore Lamont Victoria was named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, while Morgan State senior Tia Jackson earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Perry (Gr., Atlanta, Ga.) currently ranks 11th in the nation in the men’s 200-meter dash after turning in a time of 21.56 at the Clemson Opener, finishing third overall and second among collegiate runners.
Khan (Sr., Stockbridge, Ga.) finished fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles at the Clemson Opener this past weekend, turning in a MEAC-best time of 8.37 - which currently ranks 13th in the nation.
Victoria (So., Prince George, Va.) won the men's high jump event at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off where he jumped a MEAC-best 2.14-meters (7ft,0.25in), just 0.01-meters shy of his personal best. His mark is the second best in the Southeast Region and ranks sixth nationally.
Jackson (Sr., Bristol, United Kingdom) produced back-to-back winning weekends in the women’s long jump event. In the first weekend of the season, she jumped a mark of 6.00-meters at the Navy Indoor Invitational and followed with a 5.82m mark at the Joe Handelman Invitational hosted by Princeton University. Her 6.00, mark tops the Mid-Atlantic region and ranks 16th nationally. Jackson also ran a leg on the 4x400 relay team, helping them win with a time of 4:36.55 at the Handelman Invitational.

Noxroy Wright (Coppin State) broke the facility collegiate record by winning 300m dash in 33.95 at Youree Spence-Garcia Meet. He also took third in 60m dash in 6.85.
James Harris (N.C. Central) finished third at the Visit Wintson-Salem College Kick-off on Dec. 2 in the 400m. Harris ran a 50.89 time in his first collegiate race.
Radjae’ Reid (Maryland Eastern Shore) finished in second place in the men's 60-meter dash with a pace of 6.90 at this past weekend's Wagner College Seahawk Shootout.
Devion Bryant (Morgan State) finished second in the 600-meter run with a personal best time of 1:23.40 at the Joe Handelman Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
Isaac Rankin (Morgan State) earned second place in the high jump with a leap of 1.85m (6-00.75). He also placed fourth in the long jump with a personal best distance of 6.22m (20-10.50) at the Joe Handelman Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
Chase Drewery (Howard) finished third overall in the triple jump (14.97 meters) at the Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 8), which sits second in the league and 18th in the nation.
Kaelyn Woodrum (Coppin State) finished second in 60-meter hurdles with a personal record of 8.85 (15th regionally), fifth in 200-meter dash with a time of 25.96 (40th regionally), and tenth in the long jump with a mark of 5.05-meters at Youree Spence Garcia Meet
Faithlyn Irving (Maryland Eastern Shore) helped UMES win the 4 x 200 meter relays at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout last week as the Hawks recorded a time of 1:43.53. Iriving was also on the 4 x 400 meter relay team that finished in fourth place (3:55.83) and also recorded a seventh place individual finish in the long jump (5.31m).
Gianna Marquez (N.C. Central) finished fifth at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off on Dec. 2. This was the first time that Marquez has run the 600m while in college. Her time was 1:38.73 against 25 other competitors.
Abigail Fisher (Morgan State) captured gold in the mile run at the Joe Handelman Invitational…Finished in a time of 5:34.64. The week prior she set a new personal bet in the mile (5:26.81) at the Navy Indoor Invitational.
Ashley Lagat (Delaware State) holds the top time in the 3000-meter run (11:10.10) in the MEAC. Won this event at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invite.
Micah Fulton (N.C. Central) finished third at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off in the triple jump event. She jumped 11.41-meters with 30 other opponents in the field.
Nyagoa Bayak (Howard) finished runner-up in the high jump (1.80 meters) at the Clemson Opener (Dec. 8), which tops the conference and ranks sixth in the nation.
Kaedance Hamilton (Delaware State) broke DSU indoor long jump record after winning the event at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invite with a mark of 5.81-meters. She ranks second in MEAC and 43rd nationally.
