Sprinters, DMR Highlight Howard's Effort at Carolina Challenge
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Howard University women's distance medley relay (DMR) squad, consisting of seniors Breanna McDonald and Melanie White, sophomore Camille Egbula and newcomer Jordyn Miller, came away victorious on the final day at the Carolina Challenge, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
The four Bison produced a 12:13.01 time, more than 12 seconds faster than the Gamecocks' A-Team.
All-American senior Jessica Wright and freshmen Kiya Lawson, Zoe Turner and Aniya Woodruff represented Howard in the women's 4x400-meter relay, earning silver with a time of 3:35.67.

Wright's Win Highlights Coppin's Effort at Carolina Challenge
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Noxroy Wright won the 60-meter dash and took fifth in the 200-meter dash, while Jeff Hammond took second in the long jump, leading the Coppin State men's track & field team at the Carolina Challenge, hosted by University of South Carolina on Friday and Saturday.
Wright clocked a 6.84 in the prelims before winning the final in 6.79 which is the fourth-fastest in Coppin history, and the second fastest in the MEAC this season. On Saturday, Wright ran a blistering 21.30 in the 200 to finish fifth overall, good for the top time in the conference this season and the fourth-fastest in Eagles history.
Halutie Hor and Jahmel Wyatt set personal bests on the women's side; Hor clocked a 7.69 in the opening round of the 60m dash before running a personal-record 7.65 in the semifinals, while Wyatt took eighth overall in the 800 meters, shattering her old PR with a time of 2:11.79.

North Carolina Central Posts Eight Top-Fives at Liberty
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- North Carolina Central posted eight top-five performances with two meet record victories at the Brant Tolsma Invitational, hosted by Liberty University on Friday and Saturday.
NCCU senior Micah Fulton tied the meet record with a personal-best distance of 12.15 meters (39-10.5) to win the women's triple jump.
Freshman Lamont Victoria, who won the men's high jump with a leap of 2.13 meters a week ago in his first college meet, earned another victory by clearing 2.15 meters (7-0.5) to break the meet record. The height ties last year's MEAC champion Marvin Jones for the second-best high jump during NCCU's Div. I era, trailing only another MEAC champion Willie Calvin's 2.16 meters in 2012.

Hornets' White Shines at Gotham Cup
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Khaliyah White posted a pair of top-five finishes for the Delaware State women's track & field team this past weekend at the NYC Gotham Cup, coming in second in the 60 meters and fifth in the 200 meters.
She ran a 7.77 in the 60 and a 25.72 in the 200.
