NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 27, 2022 –Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Commissioner Sonja Stills is scheduled to speak on the panel Unpacking Business Value of HBCU Partnerships at Coca-Cola company headquarters in Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday.
The panel is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
Discussion topics will include, but are not limited to:
- Business value and opportunity for HBCU partnerships for corporate institutions;
- Former and current examples of Coca-Cola and Bottler HBCU support;
- Gen Z population within HBCUs and their influence as consumers;
- Tangible methods to convey HBCU support from corporate and educational vantage points; and
- Uptick in HBCU investments across the country.
Joining Stills (who will be on virtually) on the panel will be Dr. Helene Gayle, president of Spelman College (who will join virtually); Carl Hill, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for UNITED Bottler; and Ariel Romain, HBCU Expert at Kantar (who will also join virtually).
Michael Braxton, Coca-Cola Senior Manager – Multicultural Marketing, HBCUs, will serve as moderator. The Coca-Cola Company’s Black Employee Network will serve as host.

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is in its 52nd year of intercollegiate competition with the 2022-23 academic school year. Located in Norfolk, Va., the MEAC is made up of eight outstanding historically Black institutions across the Atlantic coastline: Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University.
