Coppin State Racks Up Wins at Morgan State Legacy Meet
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Joseph Manu and Amadou Ba won individual events, and Ba also led the 4x400-meter relay to gold to lead the Coppin State men's track & field team at the Morgan State Legacy on Saturday afternoon.
Manu won the 200-meter dash in 21.11, edging teammate Mauriel Carty (21.14) in the process, while also taking second to former Coppin standout Joseph Amoah in the 100-meter dash in a personal-record (wind-legal) 10.22. Manu and Carty ran the final two legs of the 4x100 relay that competed for the first time this season and took fourth in 41.75 along with Bryce Pepukayi and Jeff Hammond.
On the women's side, Latifa Ali, Kimani Alphonse and Kaelyn Woodrum each won individual events and the 4x100-meter relay also took gold.

Spartans Have Strong Effort at U.Va.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Malika Pride posted a pair of top-10 finishes over the weekend to lead a small contingent of Norfolk State women's track & field athletes in action at the Virginia Challenge hosted by U.Va.
Pride clocked a season-best time of 23.82 seconds to place fourth in the 200 meters. That time ranks fourth in the MEAC so far this year. Pride also placed in the top 10 in the 400, registering a time of 54.69 to finish eighth.
For the men, a host of Spartans turned in personal or season-best performances. Sprinter Anthony Franklin was again among the standouts. He posted a PR of 20.77 seconds in placing third in the 200 meters. His time ranks him first in the MEAC and among the top 35 in the region.

Morgan State Shows Up Strong at Home Meet
BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Morgan State women's track & field team returned home host the 16
th annual Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday at Earl C. Banks Field at Hughes Stadium. The meet marked the return of the Legacy Meet for first time since the 2019 season, which Morgan State won the team title.
The Lady Bears, the defending Legacy Meet champions, took advantage of being at home for the first time this season, as they produced 16 top-10 finishers, including five champions.
For the men, Kobe-Jordan Rhooms capped his 'Senior Day' in style by recording a pair of personal best marks on the day. The senior got the Bears off to a great start in the pit by capturing the long jump title with a leap of 7.52 meters, in addition to winning the triple jump with a clearance of 15.70 meters.

N.C. Central Field Units Shine at Aggie Classic
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Central track & field teams ended their outdoor regular season with nine top-5 finishes in the Aggie Classic, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.
Senior Marvin Jones soared 2.06 meters to win the men's high jump as the only participant to jump over 2.00 meters. For the Hillsborough, N.C., native, this is his first victory of the outdoor campaign, but the fifth of the calendar year, including a gold medal at the MEAC Indoor Championships. In the same event, freshman Brenden Finger leaped 1.90 meters to claim fourth, which is his fifth straight time finishing in the top five this calendar year.
His streak began at the Champion College Team Challenge.
