Ali Wins, Eagles Medal at Aggie Invitational
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Coppin State's Latifa Ali won the 100-meter dash (11.67) and took second in the 200-meter dash (24.17) to lead the Eagles at the Aggie Invitational on Saturday.
Saidai Stuteley and Kamillah Monroque also medaled for Coppin, as Stuteley took second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:03.49, while Monroque earned the bronze in the 800-meter run (2:14.22).
On the men's side, Joseph Manu took third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.40, while Amadou Ba was edged out in the 800-meter run, taking second in 1:52.63. Mauriel Carty won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.68.

Howard Has Strong Showing at Aggie Invitational
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Howard University men's track & field competed in the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.
On the day, Howard saw a pair of throwers earn first-place finishes.
Senior Mekhi Abbott won the javelin, throwing nearly 195 feet (43.82 meters), while junior Ezra Monteiro claimed gold in the hammer with a mark of 47.02 meters (154'3").
For the women, Diana Effiom headlined the day with a record-setting performance. The Dallas, Texas, native competed in the hammer throw where she won the event, tossing nearly 180 feet (54.78 meters), which shattered her previous record by nearly three meters (51.97 meters).

Spartans Have Strong Showing at Duke Invitational
DURHAM, N.C. -- Arieana Parker broke the Norfolk State women's school record in the hammer throw to lead the Spartans over the weekend at the Duke Invitational.
Parker smashed Kiara Howell's six-year old mark of 147 feet, 7 inches by nearly 12 feet. Parker's best mark was 159-0, placing her 19
th in a deep field of competitors.
For the men, Anthony Franklin and Kai Cole led a strong weekend with a top-five individual finish and formed half of the runner-up 4x100-meter relay team at the Duke Invitational.
Franklin was runner-up in the 100 meters in a personal-best time of 10.40 seconds. Cole (fifth place, 10.45) and Bryan-Madison Ahouman (15
th, 10.67) also ran well in the event.

Eagles Excel in Action-Packed Weekend
DURHAM, N.C. | GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina Central track & field teams had representation at both the Duke Invitational, hosted by nearby Duke University, and the Aggie Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State, this past weekend.
In Durham, senior Marvin Jones leaped 2.06 meters to finish third out of 19 competitors in the men's high jump. He was one of six individuals to have a mark over 2.00 meters. Classmate Gordon Lewis ran the men's 200-meter dash in 21.97 seconds to place 21
st out of 53 participants.
On the track in the Aggie Invitational, junior Ariana Harrell finished the women's 800-meter race with a time of 2:15.91 to place seventh out of 80 participants. In the men's 800-meter race, sophomore Leroy Scarver finished in 1:56.20 to earn ninth place out of 55 competitors.
