NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 7, 2022 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced the 2022-23 Executive Board for the conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), four student-athletes assuming leadership positions within the organization.
Norfolk State baseball student-athlete Tommy Woods will serve as SAAC president for the remainder of the academic year, with South Carolina State track & field student-athlete Chanice Harris serving as vice president.
Vansh Kapoor, a tennis student-athlete at Coppin State, will serve as SAAC Senator, and the secretary will be Maryland Eastern Shore track & field student-athlete Indya Hansley.
“I’m proud to welcome this year’s SAAC Executive Board to their respective positions,” MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills said. “SAAC plays a vital role in shaping the student-athlete experience, and everything that entails, and it is critical they have a voice and a seat at the table in shaping their collegiate years and those of their peers.”
These positions were voted on by their MEAC SAAC peers during a general SAAC meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 30. The Executive Board will provide structure to MEAC SAAC, helping to push initiatives and programs to the group.
These positions will also represent MEAC SAAC in formal settings and the conference office will rely on and reference this body for certain initiatives, programs and goals.
