EUGENE, Ore. --
This time last week, Randolph Ross was a two-time NCAA outdoor champion, having won the 400-meter title and gold in the 4x400-meter relay.

Now he can add Olympian to his already impressive track & field resume.

The North Carolina A&T State star came in third in the final of the men's 400-meter dash Sunday evening in Hayward Field at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, giving him a spot on Team USA in that event. He ran a 44.74 and used a strong finish to claim his spot.

Michael Norman won the race in a 44.07, followed by Michael Cherry. The top three finishers punched their tickets to Tokyo late next month.

Fellow Aggie Trevor Stewart was also in the 400 final, pushing to finish fourth with a time of 44.90. Despite not finishing in the top three in the final, Stewart has a shot at making Team USA as part of the pool for the 4x400-meter relay -- as all 400 finalists do.
