North Carolina A&T State to Host 2021 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

NORFOLK, Va.,
May 3, 2021 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and North Carolina A&T State University will host the 2021 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday through Saturday, May 6-8, at the Irwin Belk Track on NCAT's campus.
 
FloSports, through its FloTrack platform, will stream Saturday’s action live beginning at 12 p.m.
 
There will be a handful of events on Thursday: the preliminaries of the women’s and men’s 200 meters, starting at 7 p.m., followed by the women’s 10,000 meters at 7:30 p.m. and the men’s 10,000 meters at 8:15 p.m.
 
Friday will get underway with the start of the men’s decathlon at 10 a.m., followed at 10:10 a.m. with the beginning of the women’s heptathlon. The first field event, the women’s hammer throw, will begin at 10 a.m., and running events will start at 1 p.m. with the prelims of the women’s 100-meter hurdles.
 
The men’s decathlon will wrap up on Saturday, starting at 9 a.m., followed at 9:30 a.m. with the conclusion of the women’s heptathlon. Field events will start at 11:30 a.m. with the women’s discus throw, and running events will get underway at 12 p.m. with the women’s 4x100-meter relay finals.
 
The women’s 4x400-meter relay and men’s 4x400-meter relay, at 2:40 and 2:55 p.m., respectively, will wrap up the championship meet. The awards ceremony will immediately follow the last event.
 
North Carolina A&T State is the defending outdoor champion for both the men and women, having swept the 2019 titles; the Aggie men have won the last three outdoor titles, while the Aggie women have won two of the last three. The 2020 MEAC Outdoor Championships were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
